Trying to go deep 11sec zone, debating should I go with this turbo. My combo so far is Ported stock heads,50lb Delphi Injectors,SMC ALKY KIT,TA 49 turbo.

I would go with a TE61 or TE62. The TA60 is not to much more than the 49 you have now. What kind of times do you have now. There has been some people run mid to upper 11s with the TA49.

Thanks for your reply, current time with combo is 11.75.Not to shabby, could be better.

The difference between a TA60 and a TA49 is that the Compressor is slightly larger on the 60 (the exhaust is the same)

To run quicker, I'd run race gas, more timing and more boost. It should go mid to low 11's as is. A TA60 is such a small change from your current combo it may not really show up on the timeslip.

If you want mid to low 11's on alchy and 93, think looser converter and a larger turbo like a 61 - 63.

I went from a TA49 to a TA60. With the TA60, MSD50's, ported stock heads and intake, 212/212 cam, and the STOCK interooler, I went 11.50 with 24psi. With a V4 probably would have been 11.20.

It seems to me that it would be tough to go low 11's without an intercooler upgrade but these cars do seem to pull off some amazing stuff sometimes  .

As UNGN said, the TA60 is larger than the TA49. The TE60 would have a different exhaust housing, ala the TE44.

Blackbuick means to say it would have a different compressor housing (the TE series has an integral bell, while the TA series has a bolt on bell)

The TA60 would only be considered "slightly" larger than the TA49. At max boost there is maybe 15 HP between them. That's really not worth upgrading for. You could probably get almost 15 hp by switching your TA49 to a precision exhaust housing if it has a Garrett housing for about $150 new/$90 used.
