I am kicking around the idea on getting one of the TA aluminum blocks and maybe their stroker kit too. I am wanting any, and all ideas from you guy's on pro's and con's for this setup for street and race, and if you guy's had the money how would you build it and with what componets TIA

Champion is soon to be releasing an iron block as well, just something else to think about.

I do kind of like the idea of the aluminum block, but what one would be better

I think that would depend on your engine builder and what your goals are with it.

A good start would be:

mmmmm...aluminum...

bare TA AL block is $3900

bare Champion iron block is supposed to be @ $2600 - $2700 right?

Then you just need the crank, rods, pistons, heads, etc and someone to fill it up... :D

Before getting that crazy what is your goal with the car????

A girdled 109 is freakin strong..What r u wanting to run???

Assuming same internals and heads.......

Aluminum prolly $16K to build, you ready for that..........

Champion iron block about $15K to build. :)

The aluminum block can be repaired if a failure occurs. If and WHEN failure occurs, you may be saving some money down the road to go with the higher priced block up front. This is all relative to your goals though, like mentioned above. You really don't even need to think about the ta block unless your trying to push the envelope for max power.
