Can't find any info?!?

Above the "center" indicator too loose?

Below the "center" indicator too tight?

That's the way I interpret it. I try for the mid point when new belt is put on.

I have the same question. Believe my belt is stretched or too long. Have heard a thumping sound a few times while cranking.

I scored a stash of some Goodyear Gatorbacks that are shorter a while back.

My car didn't clunk or rattle but here's the difference between an old 'correct' belt, and my new one.

It's pretty much as close to the intercooler bracket as you can get without hitting it. My tentsioner is nice and loaded and nowhere near out of range.

Could this be a source for false knock if the belt is too loose ??

American Racing Solutions Racing Belt Tentioners, this will end your tentioner problems. For 300.00 dollers of course. Life time gaurantee.

I ordered a 63" gatorback on ebay. My alternator pulley is also slightly smaller than stock. Screenshot_20170818-192711.png

Up till a couple months ago the buick gn tensioner was 450.00. I caught a sale for 300.00 when i bought mine, now that seems to be the everyday price. I,really cant say if its any better than stock one but for the longest time it took an act of god just to find anyone anywhere.
