Ok, I am planning on getting a TH Dowpipe, and the pics on gnttype.org shows that it completely replaces the stock cat. converter with just an integral piece of pipe? Does this mean that the TH downpipe is equal to the length of the stock downpipe + the cat. converter section? (Which means that people hack up the TH downpipe to add in a test pipe with dump?) Or, does this mean that the TH downpipe is the same length as the stocker downpipe up to the point of the cat. converter?? By the looks of the pic on gnttype.org, it looks like the TH downpipe is a continuous pipe all the way to the end of where the cat. converter is located??

It's not all the way back to the exhaust hanger, and it's not stock downpipe length it's a bit longer.

Buy it with a dump pipe or shorty cat. they sell for it, whatever you need they used to come with the option of one or the other supplied with the pipe.

That would be an original Houston pipe, not sure exactly what length and by whom it is made today.

I had to lop off about 3" of mine to fit the random tech. cat. on mine.

Ask the vendor for sure what length stuff you need from the pipe to the exhaust hanger it's important.

Well, I dont plan on running a cat, I want a straight pipe. I also got a 3 in. test pipe i bought the other day, but after looking at the pic on gnttype.org of what look like a real TH Downpipe (which is what im gonna get), it looks like I wont need the test pipe....And just in case the coppers do spot checks, im gonna weld the shell of the cat. converter around the pipe somehow....

Wow, its been a few years since Ive been around this board, good to see your still around Salvage, lol. What ever happened to Norbs, Herb, and all the other original gangsters?

When I installed my THDP the end just slid into the test pipe with dump. The test/dump pipe has the four bolt flange which bolts to the Y-pipe. It was a painless install.

You should be able to make the test pipe you bought work.

For the fake cat. look a hollowed out 3" cat. for the houston pipe should be easy to obtain used and looks very realistic. ;)

Norbie's still around, I think the cows got Herbie. :p
