What to you have to do to get this thing on seems like there is not enough room need help please any advice?

When I put my 3" ATR downpipe on I jacked the car up a little because I had to remove the cat conv. left it jacked up a little, take the downpipe and start from the top, twist it a little bit around until it drops in place, then bolt it up and bolt your cat conv. or test pipe in place. Don't forget to hook up the wastegate!! HTH

Hey guys need help getting this thing on i dont know what i have to do can it be installed with the engine in the car just seems like there is not enough room it is hitting the frame and the bottom of the heater core box . please any help i would gladely appreciate thanks guys... :)

can be done with engine installed and you dont even need to jack the car up

just twist it one revolution while you slide it down , should be plenty of room and you shouldnt have to fight it , have a bungy cord handy to tie the top near the turbo (or have a friend hold it from dropping ) then go underneath and hslip it into the cat or test pipe , then go back up by turbo and bolt it on (use antiseaize on the bolts, then go back under car and and install and tighten the band clamp to the test pipe or cat

I agree! I have taken mine out and re-installed it several times and it usually doesn't take more than 30 seconds when unbolted. I believe the condition of the motor mounts would make a difference because the engine might sit lower. Otherwise, like mentioned above, a little twisting and it should go in and out without any problems.

Getting the old pipe and cat out in one piece is the hard part. The THDP install is a 10 minute deal (if the turbo bolts aren't corroded on).

I did this at the track when doing back to back testing of THDP vs. stock elbow.

it sounds crazy but a 3 1/2'' is even easier than a 3'' it's true!!

just screw it in like it was posted earlier.

Hey guys this car is 2-1/2 feet in the air on jack stands i have tryed to drop and turn this thing at the same time it hits the frame right where it goes under the pasenger side floor pan and also seems like it doesnt want to go past the crossover flange on the passenger side header when i try to push up on it hits the bottom of the heater box . now if it is that easy to get in then i will post a i am stupid post on the board later but i just dont see the room to work it in there . and also would the motor mounts having high miles on them make that much of a diffrence?

dumb question but do you have the right downpipe for your headers ie thdp for ATR header or thdp for stock headers

I bought if from a member off the board he says he used it with stock headers but it was already on the car when he bought it and didnt take it off until he pulled the motor for rebuild... :)

Are the two pieces (pipe and cat or pipe and test pipe) welded together?

If they are, install will suck.

You need to use a 3" band clamp instead of weld.

I screwed mine in from the bottom. the car needed to be about two feet off the ground to work.

that was the hard way. I know ATR made a TH knock look alike but I don't know about the installation. if it is a TH pipe like everyone keeps saying it just screws in with about 1 complete revolution.

No its to pieces the downpipe it self and a dump and i do have a band clamp... :)

It should just spin into place then. From the top.

This is like doing the valve springs. Do it once and you will never forget how to do it. OK you will forget, but you'll learn all the things not to do.

if you dont want to be on there 6 month waiting list i suggest you call this guy, (626) 855-1154 ask for sod, he's starting to make his own th style 3 and 3'5 inch down pipes with a 1inch flange so no worries about any warping or leaks, did i mention that you can get it for half the price ;) tell them ziggy sent yahh
