Yeah guys, watch what you eat peanut butter wise.
Lets see, they recalled so far...
Kashi brand granola products
Keebler brand anything with PB in it (crackers, etc) Kashi is actually a Keebler brand..(so is Kelloggs)
Little Debbie brand peanut butter related stuff (Keebler makes some of their stuff)
um..
thinking...
zone nutrition bars (I think)
Heres Howe peanut related products...
I think thats the list at the moment.
All these guys get their ingredients traced back to one manufacturer, but don't worry about your regular name brand PB like Jif and Peter Pan, they have nothing to do with the one company doing wholesale distribution. They don't even direct market a PB.
I am a grocery receiver, so I am seeing these recalls as they come through, and I'm responsible for tracking all the crap we send back. So, as far as I know thats the extent as a result of the recalls. Apparently, theres been 9 reported death related cases so far. I'm friends with our Keebler rep, and the 9 cases were people who had weakened immune systems, and had direct contact with large quantities of the PB used in the products. The products being pulled are all due to a cautionary recall. No cases have actually been traced to the items as of yet.
But, just a heads up on the products above. I'd get rid of the above mentioned stuff of you have it, just to be on the safe side.
