Have decided to put in a 160 thermostat. I think I now have a 190 because on warm-up this morning I noticed on my scanmaster that it stayed at 190 for several minutes before rising to 200-210 indicating to me that the thermostat had just opened. I went to advance but all they had was a 180. Then I looked at the motor and couldn't even see where it is. Most cars have a goose neck at the end of the upper radiator hose. It doesn' appear that this car has one. Please help this dummy out. Tommy

Follow the upper radiator hose to the intake. You'll see a "C" shaped bracket with 1 bolt in it. This is where the thermostat is. Drain the coolant about a 1/3 of the way, Remove the bolt and the bracket to get at the stat. It would be wise to replace the factory thermostat tube with a stainless steel tube from one of the vendors.

And to my knowledge you will not find a 160 themrostat to fit our cars in any reg auto parts store, you must order from a TR vendor like jaysgn or kirban, but i could be wrong. very cheap.

In the old days we would take out the thermostat all together. What would be the ramifications of doing that? Tommy
