Warning: Lots of text, maybe some rambling.
I am on the fence about selling my Buick. It has pretty much became a garage queen which is no fun for me, and my desire to work in it has dwindled. I paid the registration but haven't smogged it yet because I haven't felt like doing the work.
I am not sure what it is worth though. If I couldn't get 12K out of it I think i'd just let it sit and hope the motivation will come back. I am not selling because I need the money.
The car has been at the Bates events for the last few years, so if you went you probably have seen it. It is a relatively rare color, Chestnut Brown Metallic with tan interior. The paint was done many years ago by a cheap shop but still doesn't look horrible but it can use a new paint job. It has a few door dings and one dent on the roof by the windshield caused by something falling in the garage. I am technically the 3rd owner of the car; my friend bought the car from the original owner (our boss), at one time when he was having financial issues I bought it from him then he bought it back. After he passed away I bought the car from his widow.
I know as of right now the car needs a steering box as it is leaking. So, do it leak? Yes.
The motor was rebuilt by Lou and has maybe 2K miles on it. Lou's guy rebuilt the transmission and it has around the same mileage. It runs strong but could used tuned further. It hasn't been raced in many years.
