I couldnt get any race gas today so I had to run on pump gas, 15psi, thrasher 92. My best of 3 was 8.82 at almost 80mph with a pityful 2.05 60ft. I'm definately having traction problems, but I expected a little higher trap speed even with 15psi. Doesnt that look a little low? Car pulls strong up to 12psi or so then seems to lay down. Valve springs are new, 02's on the run were 800range.

thanks

no, thats not really good. you *should* be faster..

my 84 ran an 8.6@79 with a 1.911 60 on crappy bfg radial t/a's

my car has sh!t for top end, or, it did at the time...

you should definitely have a higher trap than that..

That seems about right to me with pump gas and the boost you ran. My Red T ran 8.7 to 8.9 @ 80 to 82 mph with 17psi on pump with some race gas, and a 2.0 to 2.1 sixty foot times. Race chip and race gas will get your mph/hp up to 84 to 86 hopefully, and your launch will determine a big change in the ET.

As comparison, I've seen a lot of stock LS1s run about 8.7 to 8.8, and even with some mods, they run lower 8s. So the key to beating those times is your launch.

I dont think that is too bad, considering the chip, boost and fuel.

Thrasher 92's have almost no top end IMO, due to the reduced timing of the chip. Great in 1st and 2nd, but you might as well have your grandma pushing you in 3rd.

Now that you have your baseline that everyone needs, never go to the track without good gas and a good chip again:D

Yes, to follow up on what blackbuick87 said, my "baseline" run was with a 92 street chip, lower timing. My 7.86 was a Thrasher 100 chip and 110 Torco at about 21 psi boost on stock turbo. So you can definitely see what a race chip, fuel, boost and good launch/60' time (Slicks or drag radials) can do for the cars. It gained me a full second in the eighth.

And on the top end, I never thought the stock turbo with stock converter pulls that hard in 3rd, especially as compared to other cars I've rode in with an upgraded turbo and converter. You can lock your TC and the car will pull harder from 2nd gear on and you can gain a tenth possibly with just that in the eighth.
