I am thinking of purchasing one. I talked to Harry at PT&E today and he said a 67-76E would work nice. I would just like to know if anyone has one yet and how they feel about it?

I was talking to Pete Barton at ANS performance today, and he said he's sold a few and they were awesome. He said he put one on a very well built stock block car, which formerly had a 63 on it, and he said it pulled like crazy. Coming from a guy with a 7 second buick, thats sayin' somethin'. I believe he said it was a Gt 67 they used, and the spool was great too, compared to the 63, which is much smaller turbo. His price was somewhere around $1140 or so, so if you're interested, give him a call at 708-450-1095, ask for Pete. I'm thinking about one, since it might help spool and since I could sell my Te45A for a good price to soften the blow to the wallet.

I'm pretty sure Petes comes with an actuator, but he matches anyones price most of the time. At least I've never seen a price he couldn't match, or beat, I feel he just gives a little more personal service. Not knocking PTE at all, they are a great vendor, I just go to Pete because he has always done right by me. PTE could have had me for a customer more often if they hadn't been real jerks at the Midwest challenge and sent me away with money in hand for a new motor. Wish I had the money to just tell my customers to p!ss off. Pete always takes my money!:D ;)

PT&E has been good to me. I have not bought anything from them and they have always answered my questions. You need to talk to Rod or Harry. They are more custom friendly and know what they are talking about.

Oh no..another turbo to screw our minds up... Nahh..I hope it turns out to be good technology for us on this one but now were gonna have to get some info on these turbos & how they compare to the regular ones weve been using everyday now..Will the actuators swap off our regular turbos? Many many questions to have answered im sure..any info at all would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks,Brian

It sounds like it is a regular turbo. The only change is the wheels. They have more surface area so spool and boost is greatly affected. At least that is how I understand it. Acuators should bolt on the same.

I got one

I purchased a smaller version of the GT turbo from PTE about a month ago. I got the GT61, all I can say is I am trully impressed, it pulls like mad, its very street friendly, it spools almost instantly. I have no track times as of yet, but I should get some within the month. The turbo is exactly as Harry & Patrick promised. I had been using, starting with, a stock turbo, then a TA49, then a TA61. So in answer to your question, I am totally pleased with my purchase.

Wonder if we could just have the GT wheel swapped in our regular T04 compressor housing.

I'll find out today. :D

So what kind of difference do you feel so far in a direct comparison to the TA61 that you were using? Spoolup, low-end, mid-range and top-end pull?

Clayton, the most noticeable difference I felt right off the bat, was the speed this turbo would spoolup. I have a really loose convertor, like about 3800. But this is the same convertor I was using with the 61. As far as everything else goes, the turbo pulls harder through the entire low/middle range. I really cannot fill a lot of difference in the top end range. I have been running this turbo at 24# for the entire time I have had it installed, it will break the tires loose @ 35 mph, and it will do this without spoolup, just flatfoot the go pedal & hand on.:D

Bubba, Did you find the dale price to be around $1,050.00 as quoted above? What was the out the door price, actuator shipping...the whole nine!

It's feeling like time for another major TR purchase.

The GT61 price with the HD actuater was a little over $800.00 shipped to me. It took them about 2 weeks to build it. I like it so much, I ordered another one for my other car last week & it came in yesterday.

PT67 turbo

Pete Barton built me a new "street car" motor with a new PT67 turbo. Initial reaction... It is awesome! I have a Precision convertor and when the motor was broken in, I punched the gas pedal at 60 mph on the highway in overdrive, and the trans downshifted and the car broke the tires loose at 6o mph!!!! It pulls like crazy and does not seem to have much lag. Paul

No information on these turbos anywhere? I know its new but seems someone would have a lil info & specs on them already on a website or something..but as long as people with them keep replying we will soon find out more..

What turbo were you using prior to the 67, for comparison's sake?

My old setup was a stock motor with just bolt ons and a TE34 turbo and stock converter. It ran mid 11's in that configuration. Paul
