Its def a sound from the valve train. The engine was rebuilt not long ago (5000), but then the car sat for some time a year maybe.

I was brousing and found this link.

http://www.type2.com/library/engineg/hydral.htm

was thinking that i could have debris floating around getting caught in the lifters. Seen a machine from a dealership come to my school one day and they purged the oil system from the oil filter stud on another students car.
Should i try the machine at the dealer and see what happens or try a thinner oil change like it says in the link?

Suggestions?

Possibly valve lash needs adjustment????

There is no valve adjustment on our cars. Are you sure it's not the cam sensor or something on the belt drive?

yea i checked the cam sensor, screwdriver to the ear.

im going to try and use a fram filter with magnets, run thinner oil in with a touch of trans fluid, run it, drain it and try again.
