Well today my son (04 Infinity G35 sedan) and I (87 T Type limited) had a little race. One of those side by side at 40mph and hit it up to about 80 or so deals. He stayed right about even with me all the way. Can't have that....The Buick is a nice, clean, stock model with 54K on it (does have an old KenneBell chip from about 1989 in it; and cat back dual mufflers). Every thing else is original including the coil pack and fuel pump.(I have owned the car for 12 yrs.) It starts and runs fine--nice and smooth, no stumbling etc etc.
What do I need to do to this car to wipe the snicker off this kids face??? Don't want to hurt the nice driveability of the car but after reading this forum for a while now, it seems that it does not take much to perk these cars up. I just can't quite figure out exactly what to do and the order in which to do it.
I will say that I am not much interested in off the line performance as it is to hard on the car--I kind of like 30mph on up. Suggestions???? Thanks for reading this post.

Gut the cat, 160 thermostat, AC CR43TS plugs gapped at .35, a good boost gauge, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Walbro 340 fuel pump with hot wire, 9" cone K&N, make the wastegate adjustable, and a new chip from turbotweak or Full Throttle, and you will clean house on that car. Go to gnttype.org, and perform the spring cleaning, and it will probably run like a different car. These cars respond to the simplest things. The next problem will be keeping street tires on the back of it.

Just for comparision sake the Infinity is alittle faster than the Maxima. Most 04 Maxima's are a mid 14 second ride (mine sure feels like it if it will hook) which is close to what a stock GN was so that is close match.
What forcefed said + Turbo Tweak alky chip and Alky Control and some good tires:smile:

The #2 car has a stock turbo, large neck Innercooler, 50lb injectors, 3 in DP, no cat, turbotweak chip, and alky.
This car will spin the tires from a 30MPH roll and will almost go sideways from a 15MPH roll and that's on some pretty good hooking tires.
No times but gets to 20psi in a hurry!

IMHO.... if your goal is to lay waste to the G35.... all that is likely needed is what forcefed 3.8 said. These cars are low 14's stock.... without too much modifying... you can get to 13.2 or so.... from that point.... options get more complicated.... the alky kit is a good buy... and another chip... this should get you from low 13's to easy mid 12's still on the stock turbo.... but IMHO... is not needed for your goals. Low 13's are a good starting point.... and if you really want to make him look bad.... get some MT Drag radials... and go from a dead stop.... you will clean his clock.

Fuel pump and hotwire, adjust fuel psi reg, test pipe, bigger injecs, alky injection, turbo tweak chip, adj wastgate rod.
Then you are gonna need tires to hook.
That should spank him very easily.

All of this will be around 1200 bucks or so...rough gestimate. If you install yourself.
Good luck
