Never tried it myself even though I sell them! Any tips for changing out the horn button?

No trick, really. Just remove the two allen bolts on the ring. Lift it off and disconnect the horn wire by turning it to the left a little to release it and you're done. ;)

Not talking about the ring itself but the actual horn button. Have customer trying to install our repro horn button and he says there are some retaining clips on the back of the button he can't figure out.

Just don't have a spare moment to take mine apart right now.

Use a pen screw driver to gently pry the retainer clips up and then grab it with a pair of needle nose or duck bill plier to lift off the retaining pins. Don't use a bunch of force or the clip will crack in two. Also, if the person goes to a local hardware store (with a good fastener section), a suitable replacement is probably available (if the clip craks in half).
