What tells the ecm what gear the car is in?

There are two, normally-closed (electrically) pressure switches on the transmission valve body in the pan. One for third and one for fourth gear.

PROBABLY WIRE CAME OFF THE SWITCH AND OPENED IT .PULL THE PAN IT IS RIGHT THEIR IN FRONT OF YOU .YOU POLLY NEED TO CHANGE FILTER AND FLUID ANY HOW
