I was really worried that it was going to be too loud and I would need a resonator or something to help quite it down after looking on the boards....but I just got a 3" single Magnaflow with no cat and I love it! (it's even the 14" muffler rather than the 18" one) I had a 2.25" dual flowmaster set up before. Not only is it even a fraction quiter, there is less drone and it sounds better. Back in 04 I believe(maybe 03) 5.0 Mustang did a muffler comparison and both the Magnaflows and Aerochambers were queiter than the Flowmasters - the Magnas were about 5 decibles quiter than the Aeros though.

Sound clips? I have a single with no cat and a 3" dynomax garbage bag muffler. Its not bad at all, but its heavy as hell. i would change it if I could get anything that sounds quieter and smaller.

I had a magnaflow catback on my cobra. When i switched to the solid GT rear and ditched the IRS, I needed a different catback. I bought another Magnaflow system cause I loved the sound. Alot of people dont care for them because they consider it too quiet, but I guess Im getting old because Id rather have a quiet car with no drone, and yet still get all the flow I need. Magnaflow mufflers do all the above. The car was quieter than stock while cruising, but at WOT it really opened up. Plus the systems stay nice and clean given they're stainless steel. Im holding off on a catback for the GN cause theres a really good exhaust shop by me that will mandrel bend a whole complete 3" single shot system from the DP back to the tailpipes, using a 3" carsound (same company as magnaflow) cat converter and a 3" Magnaflow muffler for about $475. I know the hooker CB is cheaper, but Id rather have quality stuff. My current system is stock and full of rust and pinholes. But I have heard the Aerochambers/hooker CB on a GN and have to admit I liked the sound. I just like the simplicity and weight benefit of a single shot system. I really dont think you would see much benefit going to a dual setup over a good 3" single.

This was done by a local shop that undercuts everyone everytime :D The other recommened shop was $50 more and the other place would have probably been double(all they do is buy the kits from summit and then charge you arm + leg + crotch+ bank account + wife + soul for labor). I will admit that the cruising is just a tad louder than the flows, but there is no drone so its not nearly as bad.

your exhaust is a lot quieter than mine. i have the atr single shot and still have the pitbull muffler on  . it drones a bit. i bought another 4 bolt flange to put another muffler in the system where the cat was but if i could replace my pitbull with one of those magna flows that would be better than having two mufflers and less weight-the whole reason for going to a single shot was weight and the surprise effect. Everyone here has duals and flowmasters from Caddys to Yugos  thanks Bob
