Ok finally got out ot the track. The day before my friend gave me a thrasher chip to put in my car. The boost was at 17 with no knock. So the next day we decide to go to the track and run. But for some reason the boost droped back down to like 13-14 psi. the runs were very consistant 14.6 with a best as follows
60' 2.213
1/8 9.275
1/4 14.534
mph 93.37
I was running 14 psi the tires were a very small 215/60's and running a cat and i belive i may have flowmaster mufflers. The car has 120,000 and i was thinking valve springs and getting a cut out would help to atleast pul a 14.00 flat.I launched with about 1 psi. Any advice would help
Thanks

which thrasher did you run? the street chips are not for racing, and you will get slow times.

Don't race with a Thrasher 92. It pulls timing and boost in 3rd. Use anyone elses 93 chip. You may need a little octane to overcome knock on the 2-3 shift at 17 psi of boost (add a gallon or two of race gas a tank of 93 to be safe...or just have it ready if you see knock). It will put you into the 13's for sure, however.

If you do have a Flowmaster muffler, you will want to change it at some point. It will slow you down vs. a straight thru design muffler like an Ultraflow.

Also put the cat away for safe keeping, or clamp it in and swap a test pipe at the track...or put a dump infront of the cat, but then you are limited to unleaded race gas (or xylene/toluene)

With the info given, and assuming you used a T92, your times aren't very bad.

it was only running 13psi. for some reason it stoped spiking to 17 when i was at the track and yes its just a T92. I was running pump gas 93.
All #'s were good on my scanmaster as well as fuel pressure

Original cat converter? I gained 4 tenths in the 1/8 mile when I replaced with a test pipe. I was using a Red Armstrong 93 chip and went from 9.2's to a best of 8.7, consistant 8.8's. 155,000 miles.

Hey guys, I was at the track with Inneedofabuick, the only stock injector chip i had was my old thrasher 92. It was pulling decent on 17 psi, i used to run 19-20 in 1st gear and 18-17 in 2nd and third with it without a problem since its such low timinng. I was hoping it would still be 17 psi at the track but it wasn't. i agree and think that low timing and low boost on a thrasher is not a good way to get good times. With 18 psi and new valve springs I can see it doing a lot better. It was a lot of fun anyways, and gives ya a base starting point to start with

I get 21lbs in first, no knock with the chip. I use 100 oct or xylene to be safe.

Matt:
Let JD and I help you when we can, since we're local.
In looking at your mods, it makes no sense to me that you're running 7 tenths slower than a bone stock TR ran when it came off the showroom floor. (granted,,, that was a test in 41* air)

Have you done a compression test on the 120k motor? I'd be curious about those numbers.
"Yes", valve springs are essential, if those are the originals!
Consider installing a bleed valve too, and experiment w/ boost levels manually, if your chip is limiting you. ($5 worth of parts)
We can also hook up my Direct Scan and log some data to analyze.

My schedule is booked for the next few weekends, however, I'd be glad to help ya' when time permits.
