How necessary is adding another tranny cooler?

well, the cooler you can keep the trans the better. as you probably know, these trannys are big bucks to have rebuilt.

If you're running a 10" high stall converter I would say you're need for a supplemental cooler is critical! My suggestion is a stacked plate cooler through Racerpartswholesale.com. - BB

I picked up a plate style from a local parts shop, took all of about an hour to install.

You should run one with ANY increase in stall. It's just cheap insurance!
I've always ordered the large B&M units from Summit or Jeg's. They've worked just fine for me on three different TR's.
Easy to install for the most part, mounted in front of the condensor.
