Ok ive done a search but learne very lil so far..I read one post where bob said to set the 4 on-off settings to on-on-on-off but I read it as being on-on-off-off..reason for the 3rd off was on the cover it says"GN limiter must be used (on) unless extender chip is installed then I assumed it to be off..am I wrong or was I reading a post wrong somewhere..I have the extender chip & Trans+ & 3.5 MAF & I need to know what everyone else is running..If im wrong by using the off in the 3rd position will someone explain what it does & does not do..& I assume setting 4 is for valet mode if you have it right?
Thanks,Brian

3.5" LS1 MAF, trans plus, extender chip:

On On Off Off

0,0,0,0 on the dials to start with.

Switch 3: On for non-extender chips
Switch 4: On for Extreme extender chips. (for large injectors)

Bad INSTRUCTIONS

I called RC and complained before about their instructions, even offered to help re-write them! Apparently they aren't interested. - BB

Thanks bob..glad you was around to explain..hope to have it all hooked up tonight..not really that hard either..havent seen any connections that will hook up either way like instructions say yet either..maybe my car is different..but I will for sure make sure the pinks all line up as with other colors..

The instructions are thin, I know (I wrote them) TurboDave wrote a better version that needs finishing. I should do that because they are better. I've always been too anxious to get to the next cool project, so the instructions don't get the attention they deserve.

I've been getting better in recent years, I should go back and do some clean up work on the older stuff. If you want to pitch in, let me know.

Thanks for the input guys.

Bob , what are the settings for the standard Translator (no +)? the reason I'm asking is that I have a 3" MAF but the car only runs right on the 3.5" setting . thanks.

The adjustments are the same, Some versions of the translator were slightly lean, many regular chips are somewhat lean as well. The combination makes for a lean condition that is remedied by setting the translator for 3.5"

The MAFs can be sensitive to cooling fan turbulence when running just a K&N underhood, they will tend to run lean. Putting the Air Temp Sensor ahead of the MAF can mess with it as well. Removing the screen from the MAF makes them more sensitive as well.

Ok bob..one more question..this is on the extender.... Whats the difference in launch assist & quick spool up or is quick spool up already in the chip & set & not programmable..
Also..will I have a problem with my extender wastegate % set at 5 (90/85) in the chip & then trying to run 24-26lbs of boost at the track or will I need to do something to keep from computer bleeding off or is it programmable?
Thanks,Brian

quick spooling is a built in feature and works at part throttle as well as full throttle. Launch assist is only for brake torqueing to build boost at the line. Launch assist is enabled when you want to, fast spooling is always there.

The wastegate and y-hose will determine how high you can crank the boost. If you have a high boost actuator or an extra bleeder, you will be fine. Otherwise there is no way to tell until you try it.
