Translator question(s)

I just bought a trans/Lt 1 maf combo and my ques.is twofold.First ,is the screen needed in the maf or is it to be removed? and Am I understanding that the WOT adjustment has little or no effect on those w/o the extender chip?I have the regular trans. not the trans+.thanx

I've got the LT1 maf also & upon the advice of several fellow Turbo Buick members, I removed the screen & used a dremel tool to smooth out the groove where the screen was. Worked great
As far as the translator question, you are right about not being able to adjust the WOT knob without having the extender chip.
