transmission and knock

Hey all still have low boost knock but also some new problems have poped up. One is the turbo is blowing smoke and has bad shaft play. Also the transmission is not wanting to shift from 1st to 2nd without letting of the gas during WOT. The car also seems to have a missfire, just changed the plugs to acdelco 34s and coil pack was done about 6 months ago. If anyone can give advise about the new problems or the old it would help alot. Im not going to give up on this car i will get it there eventually.:biggrin:

Turbo is shot. Transmission shifts are only late on 1-2? If the other gear changes are ok then the band and drum is burned. If all are delayed it probably threw a governor spring but would have delayed upshifts at all throttle angles. I would pull plugs and inspect again. I like ACR42TS gapped at .030-.035 depending on boost pressures. Verfiy wires are good and check all grounds. Be sure the module/coil is grounded to the intake via the nuts with star washers on them. Ive seen these loose on cars and ive seen the rear bolt missing a few times.

how much do you think it would cost to fix the trans problem also i will check on the other things.

I've had this problem pop up from time to time on different TRs. I've fixed it more than once by having a chip made giving more fueling where the problem occurred.

On your trans problem ... try a fluid and filter change. I use non- synthetic, F fluid.
