..........that it's impossible with the engine in the car. I have the Xover pipe off, but I'm making ZERO progress. These are the Stainless Steel replacement lines.

You can do it, I just did:biggrin: I had the motor mounts out and the engine jacked up as high as I could. The only mistake I made was that I replaced/installed the lines then pulled the pan and replaced the rear main. If I were to do it again, I'd do the seal first then the lines.

It can be done. Fed the lines in from the top, but shoud go either way. I had the intercooler out, turbo off but for other reasons:eek:

I just put my engine in. :( I do have the entire passenger fender and front piece off. It was the last thig I started yesterday, maybe this evening I will have more patience. I am SO CLOSE, yet SO FAR, it's killing me. I can't get it to paint until I zip this front up, and I just found out yesterday I need to get some custom power steering lines made, no clue how I am going to tackle that either. Basically, I'm burnt out, LOL.

I think your going to have to lift the motor up. I'd just pull the two bolts for the mounts. I had a Bit** of a time getting the bolts to line up, part of it had to do with the NAPA, made in India, motor mount:mad:

I got to drive mine for the first time last week only to find out that my turbo doubles a bug fogger:eek: I feel your pain.

i just did it everything still there. The y pipe was probaly off when i did it. I worked it from the bottom. Get the car fairly high, little high than ramps would have it. Just have patience. It also epends where u got the lines from. I got them from Rigt Suff.. have another set of eyes there sometimes it helps. You just have to finagle it... Patience grasshopper, patience.. thats another reason o have some one else there, to calm you down.... Psycho 6.....

Quick follow up.........

When I came back to it, non frustrated, I routed them in from the top in 10 minutes, LOL. Amazing what a day or two break will do for you.

I run braided lines through the frame rail with quick disconnects on the transmission end. No interference problems and easy to pull the trans without a wrench needed for the crappy steel lines.

Many more tranny swaps & I'll do the same thing! Should have this time around, called Classic Tube and they said they had the lines in stock, ready to ship. That was three weeks ago:mad: Glad to hear they will go in.........................if they ever show up.

I would check with them again. I ordered mine from Classic Tube and they came right away (like 3 days). I could NOT get them installed with the engine in place (by engine in place I mean with everything in place and the car in runnin condition) so now they are 'in storage' in the basement. If I ever remove the engine I'll pop them in.

Word to the wise - get new brass everywhere your new lines connect. I don't know if the taper on the new lines different or what but mine leaked in the only 2 places I didn't put new brass (and one place that I did!).
