Hey guys. I have an original BR 200r4 transmission. It has the ID tag and all. This is one of the transmissions that is sought out because it is an authentic and original BR Grand National transmission. I just upgraded to a stage 2 transmission built by Lonnie at Extreme Automatics.

So I have this one. It is clean and I just installed a new modified TCC switch with a new pan gasket and filter. Has all the sensors still in perfect working order too. It has a tag saying the Hydromatics serviced the transmission as well. I believe I have the paperwork from the previous owner to how many miles it has on it. I will check in the next few days on that.

I am asking $600 plus shipping. You are more then welcome to come by my shop in Westminster, MD and pick it up as well.

Please feel free to contact me at 410-596-8985. My name is John.

Here are some pictures of the transmission and torque converter. It's dry and clean.

Yes it is still for sale. I have the paperwork in the glove box to show when it was serviced last. I am not sure how much HP it can handle. I am running over 450HP and it never gave me a lick of problems. I am running 26psi boost and closer to 500HP. I did a couple of WOT and it never slipped. I just bought a stage 2 Extreme Automatics transmission because I am cranking up the ponies and I would rather sell a working transdmission which is worth alot more money especially the fact it's a genuine BR then sell it as a broken core. So I hope this helps. Let me know if you still want it. First come first serve.

I also gaurantee it to work. I never leave my customers hanging.

I'm sorry but i have to ask this,it looks like you are saying that this trans,is the one that just came out of your car,so it has to be the same trans from this thread,http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/parts-wanted/348669-racing-transmission.html
what was the problem with it that made you think it was roasted,+ did you try it out after you put it back together? Thanks ,let me know.

That's ok. I don't mind questions. It's the same transmission. I was wrong in my original diagnosis. The only thing that happened was the seal came off. I thought I broke it but after I replaced the seal it drove perfectly which is why I am gauranteeing the transmission. I fully trust it and gaurantee it to be working...no DOA I promise. I would still be using it but I am selling it now before I break a perfectly good transmission that's a stocker. I needed a stage 2 for my set up. So it's either destroy a working transmission and sellit as a core BR for $350 or not break it and sell it as a working BR for $600.

Who ever buys it will be happy with their purchase. With my HP it held up perfectly except for the front seal. However it was replaced and now there is no problems. I have been told these front seals are a common problem so it's not a big deal.

Now if someone beats the transmission up or neutral bombs it or runs more HP then it can handle etc. That's their problem. That's abuse. This transmission has not been beat up or driven hard. A few WOT pulls but that's it. It's a good transmission.

This is not a knock post. just a help you sell FYI for buyers.

when you changed the filter and so on did you put a new pump bushing in the front? 9-10 times they pop the seal when these are worn. You can replace the seal and its just a matter of a few hundred miles before it will happen again. Fluid bypasses the converter hub, cant drain fast enough, Check the converter and be sure there is no ridges, scratches, hot spots or hairline cracks starting. If thats clean and you changed the bushing it should be noted in your ad. This is the difference in a good used trans that will last and passing a problem on. if you decide to sell for 350.00 I will shoot right over and get it cash.

Just a quick question...Can you tell me exactly what this tranny came out of??
I have an 86 GN, and an 87 GN, both of which have their original numbers matching trannys, and neither of them look like this one (not refering to the case).
That tag on the driver's side bell housing? never saw one of those. The BRF tag on both of mine are on the passenger side rear housing area. And neither of them is a "7brf" and don't have that stencil. If memory serves my tags say BR-F (not sure of the dash).

TIA

Dave that trans John is selling is a service replacement. Not an original 86 87 GN factory trans.

yup.. a GM "warranty trans" Thats why there is NO sticker in the right location.

The transmission is an authentic GM factory replacement. It's still the original BR transmission except for the fact it was rebuilt by GM. The numbers still match. I spoke to Brian and Lonnie about this cause I did not understand it either but they explained it to me. You can still track the numbers back and find the info on the transmission. It still runs and drives perfectly.

EDIT: The question was asked about why it was rebuilt and my answer to that is simply this...I do not know why. I bought the car with the transmission already rebuilt. Also the transmission came out of a 1987 GN.

Bump

I am back from my (cough) vacation. Anyway I am still trying to sell my transmission. I already originally had it sold but due to a vendor or two complaining to the ADMIN & MOD's over nothing....I got a few days vacation I didn't deserve and lost a sale twice on this transmission. So I still have it and it works fine. It is a factory rebuilt original BR transmissiion.

To the 2 guys (Marshal & Tony) I'm sorry you felt the way you did and back out of the deal but I am legit and I am back after trying to work out an issue with the Admin and mod's because of 2 vendors in the snow country who have nothing better to do with their time then complain.

I need to sell this transmission to recoupe some of the money I just spent on Lonnies stage 2. Hope you guys can understand.

Can you post the part number on the servo cover?
I can't make it out.

This thread is closed...

BEWARE, BEWARE!

This guy has been sending me outrageous emails. He says that many of you members have told him that you agree with him that "I" have blown this way out of proportion.

Lets see what all has happened!

He gets a one week suspension from another admin for spamming. He was promoting a non vendor in a thread where 2 vendors had already been mentioned.

Instead of emailing us or waiting the one week he rejoins the board under another name. We all know that this is a BIG NO NO! Having more than one screen name is wrong and we don't allow it! He sends me a PM DEMANDING that he be reinstated blah blah blah. He sends John a PM that wasn't too pleasant I believe. So another admin gave him a permanent ban for the double identity, which is normal course of business...

The same day I get an email from a forum member asking to get this guy away from him as he is hounding him to send money in advance for some parts:eek:

Anyway, he appeals to a few different people and they speak for him and I asked Joe and John to reconsider. Joe spent 3 days going back and forth with him. Trying to explain how a forum works. Rules, etiquette, etc...

In the meantime he sends me a email telling me how mods should do this or that. I got on him about being nice to the staff because they do this for free and at least if nothing else deserve respect. Well he comes back with this, they choose to do it and blah blah blah:rolleyes:

He tells everyone that I cost him $600 several times because he couldn't get on the board to sale this transmission. He breaks the rules and gets booted and it is MY fault that he missed a sale:rolleyes:

Anyway, so he gets back on the site with this username. Instead of being normal he proceeds to send Otto a nasty PM for something Otto did not do, which was alert me to the post he had made that got him booted.

So I send him a PM asking him to CHILL OUT and not do that again. That Otto had nothing to do with it. Instead of being normal or just hushing he PM's me back just blasting me out...

So what would you do? I banned him...

Calls me a coward because I wouldn't call him when he got banned:rolleyes: Is it common practice to call every trouble maker from the board or the banned ones when they DEMAND it?

Well he has sent me and I have responded with numerous emails. Accusing me of lying:eek: and that John and I are the reason for this.

How many people know John Wilde, is he not one of the nicest guys in the world or what?

He also claims that I only do this for money. I think we all know better than that by now. He was going to bring me 10K in sponsorship money, he claims. If I was all about the money wouldn't I be kissing butt for his 10K:rolleyes:

I am going to hush now, there is MUCH more to this but; I am curious. He says he has many members that support him and say that I have wronged him. Please tell me here or PM me if you think that is the case.

I will not allow him to drag my name through the mud. So if he has loaded anyone up with crap I would love to set the record straight...

No support here

Banning was the right choice .. This is your site shane & your kind enough to share with those who comply with the rules . No body gets a trophy here .. We are not all great . School yard chit ..

Attitude is everything and this is a reflection of a poor one IMO

its your play ground and your rules, dont think you have to explain to anyone why you banned anyone.
