MY car has about 112k miles on it and my transmission is starting to slip. Under WOT, it slips substantially before going into 2nd and I recently replaced the filter and fluid. Does anyone have any opinions on whether it's better to rebuild one myself or have it rerbuilt. I'm from NE jersey and I heard CK performance in L.I. City is good.

Never did business with CK - Doesn't really count as business when Chris gives me parts for free

First I have to ask, sure the filter is in there and sealed properly? Old seal out?

If is that bad, you should be heading to CK right now because in my experience, once the slip starts - that's it - fast.

Yep, made sure the old seal was out. Actually, I think it's been doing it for a while, but I recently installed 60LB. injectors with an Extender chip and now it's really noticable under WOT.

Ck Transmissions

I Just Recently Drove To Maryland To Buy My Gn From A State Trooper Who Said Ck Did Mine, and I Have To Say This Is One Mean Tranny I Had A Local Shop Do My Last Gn Tranny And It Never Shifted Like This,so I Would Have To Say They Are Pretty Good..it Shifts Very Strong Even Under Da Boost...good Luck..

Could it be the torque coverter?
No. Torque converter isn't involved in any of the transmission internal action, it just acts as a "clutch" to get things rolling. The stock TC also offers the lock-up function, but that shouldn't be turned on until fourth gear, unless you force it. Most likely it's time for new parts in the transmission. Unless you want to "de-tune" the engine, to put less load on it!

Na, I don't want to detune the motor. I just want to make sure I have this properly diagnosed before I go any further.
