I know but I gotta know anyhow.............. Last night I went racing, very bad. I had the Thrasher 92 chip in w/93 octane in the tank. I get creamed by a mostly stock 2001 Camaro SS 6 spd and a friggin mostly stock Neon SRT or whatever that new Turbo Neon thing is. Should my car have not been faster w/mods in sig? SS had a Gtech and he put down 13.1 so I would have been around 13.5
Rather slow it seems to me.

Take it to the track and find out what it runs.
On pump gas and if you're running 16psi (in your sig), I'd guess you're in the 101-102mph range.
That could be mid-13's or mid-14's depending on how well you hook.
Tires, boost and good gas is what you need.

Never, ever ever ever ever Race anybody on a track with a T92. It's not a race chip!!!!! It's a "look what I can do at this stoplight" chip.

As you found out, hit third gear, timing goes away and the turbo neon flies right by.

The difference in mph between a T92 and a T100 or T108 could be 10+ in the 1/4.

Add 2 or three gallons of race gas (to 1/2 a tank of 93) next time and run a T100 with 17-19 psi of boost. Huge difference.

The Turbo Neon Will Never race you again.

Oh and lose the "hi Flow cat" save it for your next emissions test.

when I ran the SS I had real bad wheels spin, prob a good 50-75 feet. When I ran the Neon, I got maybe 5-10 feet. With the SS it was the 1st time I have really "staged" to race. I put my Pit Bull back in, yes lots of timing so I keep the foot out. I also found today the the TV cable was out of whack causing me to not get WOT. I was hitting 3.6v at WOT at the TPS and the throttle linkage was nowhere near the WOT bump stop. I also found when I was doing a continuity check on the o2 signal and ground wires, that the connections on the PCM were corroded, another problem that is now cured. I think the TV cable not letting me go WOT was a HUGE factor in the evenings outcome. But, as I said, I am new to this. I thought everything was good to go, after 1 day of looking things over, I found out wrong. I jsut did this same stuff 2 months ago, when I put new TPS and o2 sensor in. Guess I need to check these things out once a month or so.

Yup. Get familiar with your car before you line up. Otherwise, losing a race will be the least of your problems. I suggest you hook up with a TR veteran in your area for a little "spring cleaning".

Good luck!!!

I did the spring cleaning as per gnttype.org when I first got the car. Thats why I was saying I better check on it every 30 days or so cause I had just went through it not that long ago I did oil change(15W50 Mobil 1 Synthetic), fuel filter, o2 sensor, TPS, replaced cracked vacuum lines, AC Delco plugs, plug wires, didnt need pcv, serp belt, crank sensor(went bad on day 3 of ownership), removed and steamed out the I/C, 160* stat, I checked the coils and the CCCI when the css went bad cause I didnt know what was wrong at first. I had the computer out before and the conections werent corroded then, I have since found the base of the windshield to be leaking and there was some moisture on the RS carpet under the fllormat, water not coolant.
