I'm posting for a friend who is trying to figure out how it will work to put TTA heads on a stock 109 block out of a Buick. I have heard the pistons are different which will raise the compression. Anybody know about this first hand? As long as you know what you've got and keep the timing down, will he be o.k.? Would doubling up on head gaskets offset the compression back to where it should be? Is that advisable? Any thoughts appreciatted.....

The TTA 109 block has different pistons than the Buick 109 block.
Using TTA heads will not raise the compression enough to worry about.
You do know that the Buick exhaust headers don't match up to the TTA heads?

We ran a ported set of TA Heads years ago.
We also had a set of ATR Headers built for the
application.

I don't think I would go to the expense or hassel to run them now, unless I got them cheap!
