Having to decide whether to use a set of FelPro TTY head bolts or splurge to get the ARP Pro Series head bolts. I have already purchased stock gaskets from GM and TTY head bolts from Autozone. Also if ARP bolts are the favorite is the torque 80 or 85 ft-lb with oil? Just looking for opinions and experiences.. TANX!

Always go with the ARP's! (but that's just my opinion), from building many of these motors over the years and replacing quite a few head gaskets along the way...

As for the torque spec, spend the extra couple of bucks and get ARP thread lube. Then torque them to the specs listed on the box and/or the head gasket MFR suggestions.

I also always recommend taking the time to retorque the heads after a heat cycle, or before you hammer on it hard. Again, this is merely my opinion --- see above references...

Do it right the first time, and you won't be redoing it again and again. (as long as you don't detonate it...)

Should the ARP lube only go under the head of the bolts? I would assume the thread itself, should be coated with some non-hardening sealant (permatex #2 or permatex #14 "teflon" paste) to prevent water seeping. Yes ??

go studs!....what are you think'n?;) ...yes the moly lube goes under the head of the bolt!..the sealer goes on the threads...mike go studs!.. later joe:)

I decided to go with the ARP Pro-Series bolts 12 pt 190,000 psi part # 223-3703. Going to use 90 psi with just oil and ARP sealer at the threads...
Tanx everyone for the recommendations...
