hi guys, newbie here. i've had my car for a year now and now im having problems. i blew the intake hose a couple of days ago changed that and now ithe turbo is not running properly. leds lights show the turbo is sputtering. boost gauge shows the same. scan says sensors were fine. changed spark plugs and air filter. plugs on drivers side had flid on them. not anymore. when the hose blew a hole there was a very loud pop. other hoses seem to be ok. i am not a good mechanic but i don't want to send it to someone i don't know neither please help. thanks

Kind of hard to tell what you are describing but do you think the hose might of split?

i'll do some tests . i'll get back with you in a couple of days. not driving car. bummer

Mine started missing and sputtering recently, a new coil pack fixed it. Damn original one only lasted 156k miles

If you are referring to blowing off the pipe from the intercooler to throttle body I have done that. Wonderful POP yes?

If that is what you did check the vac lines on the block on top of the doghouse as some of mine blew off when the pipe let loose.

Check the wastegate actuator hoses for cracking or splits.

I'm with this guy. If you haven't already done so, replace these hoses and use zip ties on the ends.

Also check all vac hoses as mentioned.

ok. i cant find anything loose or any bad hoses. i read something about the coil pack. sounds familiar. how do i test it? i read somewhere to pull plug and wire and touch plug to metal. is this true?

You really only can check to see if its shorted by checking resistance front to back. MIne checked out fine but still was bad. Looks like you have to buy one or try a friends. Good luck Eric

If the needle on the gauge is bouncing and the car feels like it has a miss, Sounds like you have a valve not opening all the way. Or even worse a blown head gasket like onefastcar said. That might be more logical considering the loud pop.

Intake hoses are not under preassure, they are on the suction side of the turbo. Did you meen a intrcooler coupling?

ok i changed the coil pack but i am still
having the same problem. how do i know if it is a head gasket? rememder i am not a good mechanic. the engine is all tock accept for 160 degree thermostat. which set would be good for my car? car feels like it will cut out while test driving.

that's it i give. i'll take it to Nick instead. thanks for the insight you guys have given me though. i do appreciate it
