o-crap,if your not familier be carefull..its when your engine pings because your octane level is not high enough for your compression in the motor..you need to get a scanmaster and i knock sensor,if you hear it you are killing your motor..usually it is on top end,but can happen anytime..for now lower the boost..get alky injection,which will keep you octane levels hi during acceleration,best thing you can get..go in the alky section and talk to razor/julio..he will guide you..call him,he owns alkycontroll...im not too smart on these,yet,but i know your killing your motor..hows your oil pressure?it beats on the bearings..foregn2 said:

Right it only happens on top end runs. I dont want to go alky, i run 93 pump gas. So i guess i need to adjust boost and i should be ok?

How in the world can people still not know what detonation is? 
Please save yourself a set of headgaskets and dont jump into the throttle until your issue is resolved. really, please dont get after it.
Too much turbo boost and not enough octane will produce detonation.

turn the boost down if your only running pump gas
go meth/alky if you want to run higher boost.
check to see if a really small hose fell off your wastegate actuator.

you do run pump gas..then when you get into the boost it injects alcohol like a nitrous jet would do..you put about 1 gallon in a tank that looks like your overflow tank,and when you get low a light kicks on..it last a while(depending on how much you race)...its a must,but yes you can lower the boost..last week i had it at 30psi with 93 octane(no pinging)..look at my post in the alcohol section..get a aftermarket boost gauge and a knock sensor that lights up when its detonating..heres a pic of my motor and the overflow tank is my alcohol containment and its injected into the up pipe...foregn2 said:

Don't go WOT until you get yourself a real boost guage and a scantool like Scanmaster to monitor knock! Next do the "spring cleaning" from http://www.gnttype.org/ After that you will have a relatively safe base to work off of.
my best advice to you ,if you really dont know how to check oil pressure,and you dont know what detonation is..is to stop driving your car and start reading or become friends with a mechanic,that knows these cars...good luckforegn2 said:

i live not too far from the owner of alky control/julio,so i brought it to him..it took him like 3 hours,but he is a pro..so maybe like 6,if you take your time..i too had alot of knock,so i put cam-2 gas in and it helped me get to like 22 psi,but i wasted my 02 sensor..with pump gas i only got to like 17-19 without knock..after he put it on we got to 26psi and i left it till last week when it went to 30foregn2 said:
scared the crap out of me...but no knock..its real nice..when you are into the alky a factory light lites up saying"power injected"in green on you dash..then you have a factory low fuel lite that also lites up when the tank is low..then the tank looks just like the factory overflow,but says alky control on it..your new over flow goes behind the battery..the pump mounts in under the passenger headlite..and the injector you just drill a hole in your upper tube..from what i hear it comes with step by step detailed instructions and everything you need(complete)..and if you run into any problems,julio is a phone call away..im not sure on price i think like $450..but it is the most important thing ive EVER put on my car by far..these cars are touchy tho,id post a ad"looking for a good tuner"in your area..you can be shown how to tune this thing in time,im still learning..i love my car,it breaks the tires loose from a 40mph roll..but you need a scanmaster-which tells you everything about how your car is running while you are driving(timing,air/fuel,knock,tempature,iac,tps,bl,and alot more),another must with these cars...along with a knock sensor which will detect any knock before you do(lights up)...here is the pic of the scanmaster...they are like $220
