Wife says tags are paid. Tags never show up. Ask wife again. Says she paid it. 9 months later I get something in the mail saying thanks for paying, but you get no tags, cause you didnt show proof of insurance. Ask her to handle it cause she farts around at work all day and I work mad hours. She never does. Time for 07 tags comes and I ask where they are. She says nothing came in the mail. I know its BS so I wait for her to actually take care of it. Never does. I get a ticket for expired tags. Im all over her asking her to handle this for me cause I cant get ANY time off work for this. She never does but strings me along by continuing to say she has taken care of it. Meanwhile she gets new tags for her car. I get an extension on the ticket. Well Ive been trying to get my tags done on my own. Shouldnt have taken me a year and a half to say F it and do it myself. Shame on me. I ask my wife where my proof of insurance cards are. She says she doesnt know...they never came in the mail. ****. Here we go again. I call my insurance co and they say my insurance has been expired for 3 months. Thanks wife, for telling me. Shes been handling all the bills for years and now she decides not to pay these 2 things, doesnt tell me and keeps lying about it when I ask. Then when it blows up in my face she says its my responsibility and my car. I can think of quite a few things that are her responsibility and I handle it for her. She waits till she F's it all up and then says its not her fault, but somehow her things get handled, on my paycheck...like 500 dollar phone bills, 5 coach purses, 24 pairs of shoes, tons of designer makeup she never wears, tons and tons of BS thats all on my dollar meanwhile Im wearing my 1 pair of shoes with the soles ripping off for 3 years and holes in all my shirts and I never buy ****. House payments behind, perpetually broke. Then when I ask about what she did with all my paperwork and why all her stuff is handled and not mine...when she knows thats her job. she screams at me and blames it all on me. Im getting way off track. Anyway, my insurance company says they need a copy of the title for my car. So I go to the office, open the file cabinet, and she re "organized" everything and my title is gone. There are 2 trash bags filled with unopened bills from the past year. No wonder my 800 credit score when I met her dropped to 500. never found the title. So I need a new title to get insurance. She figures out a way for me to get a new policy, temporarily until I get a new copy of the title. Meanwhile I have this ticket to take care of and its due tomorrow...been spinning my wheels for the past 2 weeks, getting nowhere cause everything got so messed up. I cant get tags now until I get a smog certificate. It hasnt been 2 years yet which makes me wonder why I need it, but regardless it would have helped had I known about this 6 months ago...but according to her, the notice never came in the mail...total BS.
So over with the bitch fest and down with the question. To pass smog, I'll need to hook my EGR valve back up. But from what I know, the extender chip shuts it off. So not only will I not get the benefit of the EGR valve being open at idle, the smog guy will send a communications message or something to every sensor to see if it responds and its working as it should, and the EGR wont respond. At least thats the way its been done on past cars. I also have cracked header #2 which I havent been able to fix....just no time. Is this an automatic fail if they see/hear this? I also have the alky injection which Im sure has to be completely ripped out. I have an LS1 MAF and a translator...not OEM. My car stinks when I fire it up and when I tap on the cat converter, it sounds hollow...makes me wonder if someone gutted it. The ticket had the option of paying without correction for 200 bucks vs 10 bucks, and Im thinking I have to do this. But I dont know if this is going to get me off the noose, or make things worse for me. The place to get the car checked out to write the ticket off is in Moreno Valley. Way too far from my house. Dammit I dont know what to do, but Im sure theres a question or 2 in here to answer. Will my car pass at all with the extender chip in there? I know the car wont pass based on the way it smells.
Do I need to get my operating temps up? Is there any chance of passing with the extender? Should I drop fuel pressure and set the translator to 10% lean at idle? I have no way of retarding timing that I know of.
