When replacing the orginal power steering fluid resevoir with the better updated one, you also have to replace one hose that connects to it with a updated shorter one.

Anyone know the part number for that hose???? And can I still get at the dealer too?

Yeah, part number is 25531141. Long discontinued from GM. No aftermarket sources for it either. I liked to replace mine and was think of trying to use one from a 95 and newer Astro van. Looking at the pictures in the parts book this is the application that looks even close to working. Haven't ordered one yet to take a look at. I was going to run down to the salvage yards and look at one before I cut up a new one. Might be worth a try.

My steering is occasionaly making that wierd humming or hissing noise when I turn the wheel (only when hot). I know the new resevoir is still easy to get.

So does that pretty much mean I'm going to have to live with it (the noise) for now? Will I eventually loose my power steering??

Contact Brian Weaver or Mike McCoy and tell them you want a mint condition one for your low mileage car.

They should be able to hook you up.

I doubt you are going to lose your power steering.

I'd get a turkey baster and get most of the fluid out and put fresh in. Do it once a week for 2-3 weeks. Might help.
