I bought a used power plate for a stock plenum off a board member and it came with a 1 inch hole cut in it (with a die grinder) where I guess the egr port is. I know it doesn't come new that way so why would somebody cut the hole in it? I run Turbo Tweak chips that disable the egr function, but my question is, is this thing junk now or does it not matter there is a hole in it? Thanks for the help!

Mike

Nope, it will be fine. I drilled a hole in mine when the EGR was still enabled on my car. I also run a TT with EGR disabled.

+1 on that I run the plate with the hole drilled with the Turbo tweek chip. (2 of the best mods so far and cheap too)

Same deal here. Had the fcty chip when I installed the plate, and drilled the hole. Now have the TT chip and no problems.

I 4th that. :D

Thanks

for the help guys! The seller is going to make it right anyway and trade me for one without the hole so that's cool.

I drilled mine so that I could run the TurboTweak emissions chip for state inspection....

why would you have to drill a hole in the plate. i havent heard of this before. ive been looking at getting one. i still plan on keeping the egr function. when i get one, where would the hole have to be drilled.

After aligning the stock plenum gasket to it, you drill the hole where the EGR gasses go, should be around 3/8" to 1/2" not 1".

The gasket is the template and it's easy to do if you need or want the EGR function. :)
