OK I am wondering if this is normal, here it goes when the car is hot and in park I have 15 lbs of vaccum and when I put it in gear my vaccum drops to 10lbs and I have a friend that his is at 15lbs in park and when he puts it in drive the vaccum stays at 15lbs,So my ? is why would I lose vaccum when I put the car in drive? I tried posting in the tranny section but response is so slow...I only have one day off so time is important..thanks for all the help..is there a valve or something I can check?

I thought idle rpm was controlled by ECM, & therefore a "drop" when put into gear will not be sustained . Drop in vac. (1-2") should be from increase in engine load,,,

Idle is controled by the ECM and when your in idle you have very little load, when your in drive or reverse you have a slightly bigger load than in nuetral/park so your idle air control valve should open up to keep your idle about the same. And when your idle air control valve or throttle body open up more, then you have more air entering the engine= less vacuum. So I would assume your vacuum should change (as it does on my car) when you go from idle (park/nuetral) to idle (reverse/drive)......

Sorry, Monte & rest of thread responders, I knew or thought that Vic works on these things. I am getting tired of shoehorning my fat azz into the Z06 as a daily driver to work. Saw one in the paper and just wondered. What should i be able to pick up an 02 or 03 for in primo condition with low miles for? Everybody? Anybody?

i work for a amusement company here in randleman nc. hell a new dynamo 7ft bar table new cost us like 2k it's a coin op table.

well sell our used tables for anywhere from 500-1000 depending on if the type of cloth and how nice the tables are.

Meanwhile, back from the pool hall (lol)--perhaps your buddy's has a noticeably "looser converter" (and/or a tighter gauge)?

He has a 3000 stall mine is stock 4 the time being, also they are solid wood tables 1" 3 piece slate no coin opp we have those also for about the same price...

Well the cam, condition of engine, torque convertor, ect,ect can all effect the vacuum you see. Every car is a little different but they should be about the same unless they are modded different..... now as for the pool table Im definetly still interested! Im gonna have to go down there and check them out! Where is the store at and when would it be a good time to go?

just give me a call vic,it is my peak season right now so im here every day I am going on my 32nd day straight  thats why I havent been going to any gathering :frown: but soon I will be set free  and then look out...call me at work 858-569-7727 im here from 10:00-6:00 every day...
