Somewhere I read, that theres some hoses in our cars, that when replacing, they have to be rated for boost, cuz if you use traditional vacuum hose, theyll collapse or something like that. It's gotta be line rated for boost. Did I remember this correctly? Was under my hood just replacin some line, and was wondering if the hose around the turbo is certain hose, or if i could just use normal 7/32nds vac hose. Anyone?

boost vs. hose

Hi!
Wow, I don't think I have ever heard about this before.I guess, if you run tons of extra pressure, the average hose would have a hard time handling it. What I do, is use tie straps liberally, to make sure a hose doesn't blow off, and then I just hope it all holds together! At the cross sectional dimensions we are talking about,I really don't think average boost pressures are going to blow hoses. You never know, however. I don't worry about this, personally. Good luck!

All of my vac hoses are regular 'ol PimpBoys/GhettoZone lines. No problems here. Indeed wireties are a fantastic invention. Actually, I've never heard of a boost rated vacuum line.

I've never heard this one before but I have heard of either the stock MAF piping or a K&N filter calpsing while under pressure. I'm not sure how realiable that info is but It's no vaccum you line for sure.
