valve springs

Im changing the springs next week.Bought the comp 980 ,I only have about 60,000 miles on the motoe but i am only gaining 17 mph from the eight to the end.Should i change the seals and if i dont have the prper tool can it still be done.Friend works on mopars and has spring tools thanks John

I'd change the intake seals while I was in there, cheap insurance. You should be ok with Mopiggy tools if they can handle the #6 pass side rear pair. If not, Kirbans or Postons can fix you up.
