Can't be done. j/k

Don't do it! Just my opinion but it seems as if most of the TR's all look the same. The vinyl roof option is awesome! Make the car look like a sleeper. Also, keeps idiot thieves away- maybe the police too...;) Something to think about...

If, however, you decide to remove the top, there may be some extra body work to do as I seem to recall some studs that may need to be removed...

welcome to my world :D

I removed all my trim to restore my car also...you are going to break those clips...really isnt a way to get the trim off (w/out damaging it) and saving the clips...

good luck finding those clips, I work @ a dealership and went through all the books, and websites that sell those clips, they arent available.

The only ones I found were the small ones for the lower molding along the 1/4 panel...

Gotta find used ones, or someone that has a stash of them from back in the day...

If you find any let me know, I'm still waitng on Weaver to see if he comes through ( he's got some used ones)

Yedi- Can you post up a pic of your car? From your avatar, it looks alot like mine. Another vote here to KEEP the top. Not many of us vinyl top guys running around especially with the turbo mill. I did hear about the retaining clips being scarce. Has to be a way to get someone to mold them. I do know of a contact in CA that can probably mold them if a NOS one is available as a donor. He's done alot of custom motorcycle and scooter restorations pieces so I think he may have the tools/ molds and know how. PM me mario987 if you want his contact info.
