Here's my idea...I no longer use the oil cooler so I plan to just get an inline oil pump or some sort of inline pump, run it through the inlet and outlet of the oil cooler adapter with a switch inside the cabin. Since it only needs to be used maybe 8 seconds at a time before startup, if that long, is there some sort of low pressure or (cheap) pump that can be used in this situation?

One big problem. I don't think you are going to be able to suck oil from the inlet side (through the oil pump).
Using the outlet to pump oil into the engine works fine. That is how I did mine.
I welded a 3/8" bung about 1" from the bottom of my oil pan (when it was off the motor) for the suction supply of the pre/post electric system that Summit sells. Good system but not cheap.

Ok take the inlet from the pump to the outlet on the adapter and then what? Anyone know a cheap pump that can handle this for a few seconds at a time? I'm surprised no one has really done this...

No one has done it because you can't do it. The oil will have to flow through the pump at all times. Putting a pump in that circuit will restrict the flow, plus, as mentioned, electric pumps aren't very good at pulling liquids, they are built to push them.

Hmm...wait a second..I have it blocked off right now so I don't see how oil would have to go thru it at all times, just have a block off when I am not using it...only need it for a few seconds before startup..what do you think?

Adrian87,
Other than the system I have, I don't know of a cheap pump that will handle oil. There has to be some, I just don't know of them.

You will need a check check on the outlet side of the pump to keep the oil from back flowing.
I used the oil return from the cooler as my supply oil to the motor because it sends the oil through the filter first. I installed a "Tee" because I still use the oil cooler.

You have what blocked off? Don't tell me you just left the adapter and lines on the motor and just plugged them! If so, bye-bye motor!

Oh yeah, didn't think about that..no we took the entire adapter ring off. It's in a pile in the garage. (grenaded the last engine and didn't have the $$ to replace the radiator {oil cooler} so we left it off.
