Wastegate 10lb spring

I have a GN and the person i bought it says i needed to get a 10lb spring from ATR he told me to tell them its the $300 wastegate and they would know which one it was. Now that they are not answering any emails how is another way i can go about getting this 10lb spring. I am pretty much a noob with cars so im not sure waht to do now

10 psi spring is what the setting is before the external gate starts to open.

Depending on heads, what is your boost pressure set at right now?

You can use the spring in the car right now, just find out where your boost is at and then use a bleeder to bring the boost up.

In my opinion, i would find out where the boost is at, then adjust the boost accordingly to what timing and meth i was running.
If you need to turn the boost down, we can work on that, tell me the entire combo of the car......

If the car has 20psi all the time, add some good gas, or meth, and some more timing..

if you have the 15 or 18 lbs spring you can just back the set screw out all the way and remove the aluminum spacer/puck behind the spring. this will give the spring less tension and can lower your minimum boost setting.

Anyone know where to get a 15lb spring for an evolution turbonetechs WG??
They only give up to a 9lb with it and I am using a bleeder but not holding a good boost all the time (Flutering valve) want to bump the spring PSI Up to hold it better

It maybe a little easier if someone just gives you a hand w/ the car. Post up or edit your location, there's some great guys out there, I'm sure wouldn't mind.

Boost is the pressure from your turbo into the manifold, also called PSI,boost, turbo boost ect.
Hopefully you have a aftermarket boost gauge on the car that you can see what the pressure into the engine is.
If you have a digital camera, take some pics of the car and post them up, maybe we can walk you thru and help you out there.

I assume the guy you purchased the car is telling you to get a looser spring for the external gate because the car is running too much "boost" and might hurt the car if you are running too much boost and NOT enough octane!!!!
Please post up here with your questions so hopefully you dont hurt the motor, which is fairly easy to do if you dont know what all is going on under the hood.
