Wastegate Puck

I am installing a TE44 w/.63 Precision housing. After taking off my stock turbo and stock elbow, I noticed that the puck hole in the TE44 is cosiderably larger than the puck in the stock elbow. What do I need to do here? I am going out of town for a couple weeks so a definitive answer tonight would be great. In case I have to send this thing out I could get it boxed up and adressed for the wife to send on Monday.

Get a TH style DP, they have large pucks.

I thought you were going to go with a bigger turbo then that.

I was, but I got a good deal on this one and it will do for now. I want to build an engine on the stand for the bigger turbo. I cannot afford a DP now I just bought the turbo. I found a thread that turbomike started that said he ports the stock elbow and adds a bigger puck for $55 shipped. If I can get ahold of him before I leave tomorrow I will send him mine to do.

Eventually, I think I may go with the TE61 or similiar. Maybe the new 70Q.

jack cotton did have a larger wastegate puck..for like $6..if your a do it yerselfer...joe
