I have water leaking into my car and it is coming from the passenger side right under the dash next to the transmission tunnel. When it rains, you can see the water dripping in. I reached my hand up under the dash next to the golve box and the insulation felt like a sponge. But if i moved my a little higher, it was dry. my heater core was recently replaced by the dealership. What should be my first step to fixing this? I would hate to see my floor rust out. i have read from previous posts that it could be where the AC box meets the firewall. If anyone could give me some details on how to tell and what exactly to use to fix it i would appreciate it. What can i do to get rid of the nasty smell!!! My last question is who makes a good car cover for our cars? I really need to cover it up to keep the rain from getting to it!! Any help/info is greatly appreciated!!!

unless you get a really good car cover it wont keep the rain off, them 80 buck walmart jobs pretty much suck. and to top that off a cover will rub the paint off. your best off getting a cheap carport

Permatex makes black sealant in a smallish orange tube that works well. Just run it along the seam where the AC box meets the firewall. You may have to remove some of the screening and covers on top to get to the whole seam.
