Like the post said I am going to an external gate and need to know wear on the crossover to mount it. I am using a Tial 38mm gate. Any pics of your set ups would be appreciated. My main concern is clearence and the weight of the wastegate possibly bending the pipe once it gets hot.

Surely someone on this site is running their wastegate on the crossover. Come on guys

Ive got a racegate on my stock crossover. Its on the driver side. Buy a weld flange ang bolt it to the gate and find a suitable location. Then remove the flange from the gate and tape it or tie wrap it to the crossover. Have the welder tack it on before removing the tape. Grind out the hole after you checked to see if it is in the correct location. If you are using a mild steel crossover it will need to be welded every year because the pipe is to thin and will break off at the edge of the weld. Use a stainless crossover to avoid this headache.

Thanks for the help Bison. You officially know some stuff! I'm planning on using a stock crossover. Hopefully the weld will hold up OK.

I ahve 2 deltagates on my ATR crossover. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow.

I too have a delta in my atr crossover pipe. If you still need jpegs let me know and I can take a couple and email you.

That would be great guys. I'd love to see some pics of the wastegates actually mounted to the crossover pipes. Thanks! Kevin

just wondering are you putting the gas back into the DP or just to the atmosphere?

Atmosphere. This is not an emissions legal mod. What a pity.

back into the exhauste, mine does not have any emmissions but I don't want it that loud and I'm sure it's not legal on some tracks.

Just wondering how loud it would be on the street? My engine that I just bought has one in the X pipe. Might have a header built anyways so it might get moved.

How well does a single deltagate control boote? I'm thinking I'm going to mount one on the passengers side that routes back into the downpipe and the other one with a higher boost spring mounted on the drivers side with its own exhauste stub pipe and muffler. Another option is to round both of the wastegates out the drivers side and have a dual exhauste sytem in which half is primary the other is wastegate exhauste. This is on a 64 Riviera so it has an X-frame and duals remain seperated by the frame till the rear axle.

One deltagate would not control the boost at all on my 4.1 so I had to use 2. I can control boost great with them. It is loud though. When I'm at WOT you know it. If you want it to be quite then I would either run it back into the exhaust or go with an internal gate.
