What are some ways to boost oil pressure besides thicker oil?? i already run mobil 1 15-50 and my oil pressur eat idle in drive is only at 10-12 psi. motor runs great i just think this is a little low. its fine when cruising or at WOT, its just low at idle.....

You can either get a booster plate thing from Kenne-Bell or just a high volume oil pump. You could just buy a kit to boost the pressure. I believe it's just a matter of putting stiffer springs in the oil pump or something.

Wheres the best place to get KB plate? and how is it installed? throught the oil cooler, or by dropping the pan???

Advanced auto parts sells a high volume pump kit for around $30.00. It is easy to install, and comes with the 3 springs to select pressure. I used the weakest one and have 20lbs in gear hot and 40 to 50lbs going down the road. This is the same kit most people sell for $50.00 or there abouts. If your pump is scored, then you will need a new pump or plate to make your pressure. Everything can be installed without pulling the timing cover. Our pumps are external, pulling the pan will only let you see the crank, not the pump.

The springs are for the oil press relief valve-they crack open to relieve hi pressure on a cold start. Shouldnt affect idle pressure. The PTE turbo saver remote oil filter give me 3-4 more idle psi.
