This is my very first post

I am 16 years old and i just bought a 1987 Grand National it runs great but it has a slight problem. when i first give it the gas it bogs down like it wants to stall for a second then it revs fine. i was told when i bought it that the motor was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and he put a cam in it. could it be the cam sensor? please help

Thank you

Welcome to the board.

It could be, but then again, it could be a TPS, injector problems etc.,,,. You'll need to post your modifications and do you have a scantool to look at data?

i have a kenne belle intake, ajustible fuel pressure regulator, pitbull exhaust. i ran the codes myself with a jumper and code 23 and 24 came up. 23 is the speed sensor and 24 is a low maf sensor

Are these hard faults (light on all the time) or soft codes (codes set, but lights not on now). If soft codes, clear the codes and see what happens.

at first no light is on but after driving for 5 minutes it comes on. i am almost sure that it is the speed sensor because i read about it on gnttype.org.

Address the lower number code first. Is your speedometer working? If you have access to a scan tool, you should see what the speed sensor is seeing.

yes my speedomter is working fine

no i dont have a scan tool but i was considering about buying one do you have any ideas

Purchase a scan tool first. Quite possibly the best investment you'll make. Make sure that the one you purchase can give live readings such as TPS voltage, O2 crosscount/ voltage, etc, along with codes. I'm pretty sure turbo link and scanmaster have those functions.

Welcome to the board......Lots of great guys on board able to help.

Goodluck!:D

Like Gokota says, look at scanmaster or turbolink, also DirectScan. Try doing a search in the Marketplace, maybe you'll stumble on to a good used unit. Scanmaster will not require a laptop, but Turbolink and DirectScan will.
