Just so everyone is clear, pretty much everyone in Kansas hates them too. Please, PLEASE do not lump us in with those morons.
Unfortunately the written law can't always save us. This country has fought so hard to preserve freedom of speech that we protect speech and protest even when it is in incredibly bad taste, such as the fred phelps gang. In this case we have to resort to other measures, such as those taken by those good ole' boys from the south. This story brightened my day a little.

If my nephew, a Marine now in Afganistan doesn't make it and these aholes plan a protest I swear to God I will organize the same response. There is no place for that at a funeral for a fallen serviceman. Actually I'm surprised someone hasn't driven a truck through their ranks and wiped them out.

It's even more disgusting to think that they are dishonoring the very people who fought and died to protect their right to dishonor them.
All because "God is punishing us by killing these soldiers because the United States is too tolerant of Gays." I don't think any of them have even held a bible. They want publicity, and they are getting it even now via this thread. To them there is no such thing as bad publicity. I don't want this to turn religious so I shall stop now.

That makes me happy to see. I wish all newspapers and news stations would run that info. I think those folks are so f#$%ed in the head. It angers me beyond belief to see them with their children out there saying horrible things about dead soldiers. Someday, Karma will F their world...
They were here a week or so ago conducting a 'protest' in front of a school. A SCHOOL?? Because the school had a high population of military families.
It will be no surprise when somebody comes along and takes one of them out. Chances are, the person taking them out would even have a good case for temporary insanity. I wish no harm or ill will on any person. But if one of these people get taken out, I won't even protest their funeral.

We almost drove up there just to see if they would actually show up. I am actually very surprised they came down here, should have known somebody was going to kick their ass.
These aren't the kind of people you drive by and "take out" these are the kind you walk straight up to and get the pleasure of feeling their teeth leaving their gums.

Someone did try to burn their church down as I recall.
A co worker was telling a story of how they were to protest at a fallen service members funeral. There happened to also be a bunch of bikers that showed up at the funeral. Yet somehow the Phelps clan decided not to show up after all.
These were also the same ones that wanted to protests at the funerals of the 5 hostage Amish girls that were shot dead in their school house by the 32 y/o truck driver a few years back. Really now what have the Amish done to you?
Freedom of speech or not, saying stuff like "thank God for dead solders" is downright wrong. Even worse are the little kids of theirs who do the picketing. The BBC did a story no this family a few years back protesting in K.C.....some of the kids were holding the hate signs yet had no idea what the signs even read or meant.
Sad.
