I just recieved my new WG solonoid from postons. Car never had one to begin with (PO had it hooked to manifold vacum). SO... it has two spots for lines to hook to it, and a filter looking thing on the back.

One of those lines has a "restrictor" inside of it, and the other doesn't, it also has a filter element in the backside of it. Naturally, it didn't come with any diagram(since most would have the old one to go off of)...so I'm lost as to which side I hook the line to.

Poston's mentioned this being a "updated high performance value( ) that uses your current wiring plug "

Thanks.

Well, the stock one had the vacuum line connected to the left port (facing the solenoid just like your picture) and the one on the right was left open and vented the boost pressure. Never seen one of those solenoids before. You said there is a filter on the back?

YEP.. filter on the back.. .if you blow into the port on the left.. air exits the rear of the solonoid. Nothing comes out the right port, I can't suck or blow the right port:tongue:

But I can suck and blow the left port...

Could it be that they designed this solonoid to eliminate the "Y" fitting?? As in, Compressor outlet goes to the left, and Wastegate actuator line goes on the right?

If that's the case... I find it odd that there is no mention of that since it's a dearture from stock.
