this is my first TR i have a list of mod's but the car just dosen't make the power i think it should.
here's the combo t-60,3"dp,3"ex,40# injectors,xp pump hot wired,
external wastegate,chip from PTE,hooker headers.
i am running 16 psi. and the car will baerly spin the tires!
please help??

lotsa things can cause that. be more specific. any data? maybe you need more boost. them hooker headers are known to cause lag (too big) and with a 60 turbo.....

i really have no data,i'm looking for a scan tool right now,i do have a 2800 stall convertor, what is normal boost on the street?

Yeah, the headers may be hurting you. What converter are you running? Have you checked your numbers on a scanner? 40# injectors might be a little small.

stock boost is 15 psi. i havbe run 18 before alky, didnt want to go higher. i think hes ok with the 40s. check FP and makes sure you are too rich.

You can always get rid of the 28" ET Drags and put on some nice 215/65 R15 Yokohamas. A skateboard would spin those.

i think if you powerbrake it and at the point you cant hold anymore boost thats the stall. also if you mash it from a stop, the point where it grabs and goes it the flash stall im pretty sure.

Valley racer,
Unless that is a ball bearing turbo, I disagree about your stall. I think you could use a little more stall, try 3000-3200. However, I do agree about the hooker headers. I'd take them off and sell them or save them for later. You do not need those until 10s, maybe low 11s. The stock ones flow fine until then. Finally, don't go above 16 lbs until you get a scan tool. That very well could be all your problems. There can be a HUGE difference in a TR tuned right from one tuned wrong. Like night and day on the same car!!! But you also want to be safe and not blow a head gasket. Therefore, keep it under 16 lbs until then.

Stall is fine! I was running 2800 stall on my old combo with a 60 BB turbo and it worked fine. So, get ride of those headers, get a scan tool, run slicks, put some C16 in, and turn up the boost a long with the FP.............hold on.

That turbo won't make more hp that the stock turbo until over 18 psi of boost. Coupled with the hooker headers, too high of fuel pressure and the lack of scan tool data, you could be making 20-40 HP LESS than a stock TR at low RPM's (even after the turbo spools).

Loose the hookers, Get a scan tool, add octane until you can increase the boost to at least 19 psi. If you want to be faster at boost levels below this, port the heads.

Dont waste your time removing the headers, I ACUTALLY HAVE THEM ON MY CAR! SO I ACTUALLY KNOW. Ill break em loose at a 30 roll with 15 psi.
