Since I look at this board as more of a source of educated opinions than any other auto boards, I thought I'd ask. Man that stuff is THICK. Are it's benifits from raising the viscosity alone? I'm all for added protection but it seems that it doesn't exist if you don't believe in snake oils. They say to use 20%, seems like alot.

But I've heard alot of good things about Lucas.

So let's hear it guys. Believer or no?

Add 8 ounces with each Mobil 1 0-40 oil change.

Talk with diesel mechanics & fleet vehicle maintenance supervisors about Lucas products.

We use their entire line of products with great results.

Major "Thumbs-Up" !

I got a couple of truck driver buddies and they told me how much the diesel techs like the stuff. I've used eight ounces with my last couple of oil changes w/ 5w 30 Mobil 1. Even with a pump gun it takes forever to pump it into a oil bottle bottle for measuring purposes. Thick stuff! Oil changes took a little bit longer.:p Don't care as long as it insures that my engine will last a little longer.

Used the Tranny conditioner on my last transmission that was going out. Band aided the severe slip I was having till I got another tranny to put in.

0w 40? Really?

Broad enough. I'll stick with 5 30 through the summer though. Gets pretty hot here.

Thanks!

A buddy of mine in the diesel parts business heard that it was the best of all additives. I consider it useful in cars which may sit for a week or more. It prevents dry starts. I read along time ago that starting a dead cold car is = to 400 miles of wear. So dry start protection and driving a cold car easy are biggies to me.

I have an 87 V8 Limited that has worn bearings - and use the Lucas in it to keep the oil pressures in a reasonable range.

Seems to work great!
