I think it might help on the applications pictured (chevy sb) or any block that puts the oil filter in close proximity to the headers.

Otherwise, I don't think it would be a noticeable or even beneficial change on our cars from a "naked" oil filter. In fact, the money would be better spent on a good cooler or something like the remote oil kit like PTE's.

remember that is says that this cooler its suppouse to disipate the heat from the oil filter not protect against other hot parts around it, as the hot oil goes through the filter it makes it hot, the cooler wraps around the filter thus taking the heat out of filter and at the same time cooling the oil that goes through it.. makes sense !!!!

In will remove heat from the oil filter... that said the oil filter is not made to dissapate heat and very little of it passes to the area where this device attaches. This is gimmicky and I doubt you will see any substancial improvement from its use - money is better spent elsewhere (or saved for a real oil cooler).
