Using what you see, is this something that I should consider?

I'm thinking of going to a 52# inj (50#?...whatever the next step up is) and a fm.....and getting a new chip burned instead of the goofy thumbwheel!

..and what would be the best or doesn't it really matter (I really like TD's design...so that is where I'm leaning).

Thanks,

Mark

What kind of times are you running now? I don't see a FM being that much of an improvement over your dutt. neck stock IC, expecially not for the price. I'll say maybe .15-.2s or so, depending on a few variables. I have a stock IC stretched to 21 rows, with the dutt. neck, and I tried a Precision FMIC because I thought it would help, no avail. My ET's didn't budge, all I noticed was a 20*hotter temp, and the throttle didn't feel as responsive(maybe just me), so I put the stretched stock back on because it had better drivability IMHO.

If you "just gotta have a FM", kindly consider the one offered by Jack Cotton at www.cottonsperformance.com

In comparison to the source mentioned in your Q, Jack's FM is both "bigger & badder", plus you'd be supporting products from a
super-honest, helpful, friendly source, who routinely goes the
"extra-mile" for his customers.

HTH :)

That goofy thumbwheel ROCKS!!! A 16 pos ME (once you figured out how to use it) would work pissa! Chips are for eatin;) If you know how and can burn your own then you could get a chip to work. With a goofy TW, it's all right there for you to tune. WAY easier than you think! You can keep the ultra chip.

a front mount won't show any improvement over a good stock location until mid 10 type performance

keep your stock IC and Dutt neck until you are running very low 11's and then consider going to a stretch stock location

a waste of money and overheating problems otherwise

azgn, If you look at his combo, he has enough for 10's if he tunes it, and gets some bigger injectors.

nah, a 52 turbo and very high boost is good for mid 11's (and that would be with something like a V4) unless the car is very light....seen that combo, and know what it will do...a front mount won't help anymore than a V4 or equivalent

Very good.....that is why I posted :)

I'll save the money and work on what I got.....but my times suck right now due to a terrible miss (I don't want to get into it right now, but I've replaced everthing!!!) Before the pt52 and full roller rebuild I ran a best of 13.0 @ 105.....after = 13.1 @ 104 and it spit and sputtered all the way down the 1/4 mile :(

....my old posts tell it all and it is something I have to work on in the summer......so I'm just looking at options.

...as for the TW....maybe I can get a tutoring, because I don't think it is working all that well....plus, I didn't think I would get the most out of the car if I switch to the 50# injectors...is that wrong?

Anyway,

Thanks everyone!

Mark

My car went from low 13's to mid 12's going from a big neck stock intercooler to a CAS V2, on 93 octane and a small te34 turbo, and 102ish to 107ish mph. A friend's car went from about 11.80 to 11.30 going from his stock big neck to a Precision front mount (race gas, slicks, TE60, etc) - he posted his times on the gnttype list several years ago. Tony told me that the V4 should give about 60% of the gains of the V2. Can you go very fast without a front mount? Yes. Can you run as fast with less boost and octane, or go faster, with a front mount? Yes, in my experience.

I have a buddy with a very heavy GN (big stereo) and he is running 11.0 with a 52 without super high boost. He does hog out his own heads though.

I think it all depends on your future goals. If at ay time in the near future you plan on going in the 10's, I'd get the front mount. A front mount Like Cottons or a V1 are so big, that the tanks do not block the radiator, and cause minimal rises in temp. If your goals are 11's, I'd just stick with a good stock location unit. I thin you will find a stetched IC a good upgradeover a stocker with a Duttweiler neck, especially if you go to a bigger turbo some day.

Before I spent another dime though, I'd find the miss in the motor.
