So i was going to have a local shop rebuild my motor and everything, but then they told me that my number one cylinder wall was pretty scuffed up and that i should just buy a rebuilt motor from jaspers.
They thing is i already bought the valve train i wanted. and they are telling me that they cant warrantee any work for me unless i buy a complete motor from jaspers. do you guys think i should just get a short block from jaspers and use as much parts from my old motor as possible or should i take my block to a machine shop and have that motor rebuilt.

Also is it true that jasper's motors use the wrong crank?

No Do not use a Jaspers.Bring your car to another shop that knows Buicks. There must be someone in your area that knows what they are doing.

If you need a motor get a Grooms or Webber but FIRST look for a REAL Buick Shop that can build an engine & has Knowledge with the Turbo cars! Your shop is just plain Scared cuz they arent familiar with the the lil Buick motors. These motors need someone who KNOWS how to assemble them Properly! Everything has to be Tight! Keep looking for a new shop for now! You will be happy you did even if it takes a couple months! Good Luck!
