im installing the a af ratio autometer gauge, what wires are the best to tap? i have a red wire black wire and a purple one..

3 wires, sounds like you have an aftermarket heated o2 sensor. Where do the red and black wires lead to? Should be 12v acc. and ground. The purple wire is the signal voltage.
An a/f ratio gauge won't tell you much, however.... they aren't known for accuracy, just for flashy lights.

oh sorry i wrote that horribly..i meant those wires are the one comin off of the gauge lol..im assuming the red is power for the lights on the gauge an black is the ground an purple is the signal..i jus need to know where is the best spot to tap the wires on the car

The instructions say to run the purple wire out in the engine compartment and tap into the wire right before it clips to the O2 sensor.

Ground- any good unpainted metal surface. I think I used a bolt for the e-brake.

Power- use a volt/ohm meter, or idiot light to find a "switched on with key" 12v. I think I had a spare spot in the fuse box???
